DIRECTOR WRITER PRODUCER ANIMATOR ARTIST

Sebrina Dement Semer is a director, writer, and visual storyteller who creates fantastical worlds rooted in emotion, transformation, and imagination.

She is currently an Associate and Creative Director at Harvest Media. Her award-winning animated film Monsters Within has received international recognition, including Best Animation at NYU’s Fusion Film Festival and the New York Short Film Festival, along with multiple grants supporting its production.

Sebrina’s work is rooted in worldbuilding and character-driven storytelling, often exploring the intersection of the surreal and the emotional. Across her films and projects, she creates spaces where characters shaped by trauma, isolation, or transformation are given the opportunity to confront themselves, connect with others, and build something better.

Alongside her work in film, she is developing an animated television series, Fox Around the Night, writing a fantasy novel, and creating a slate of original animated projects.

Born and raised in New York City, Sebrina is a queer, mixed Filipino, and neurodivergent creator whose work is inspired by the strange, the whimsical, and the unsettling—stories that move between softness and darkness, beauty and horror, imagination and reality.

She graduated summa cum laude from NYU Tisch Film & Television and was awarded the Richard Protovin Award, as well as a Faculty Commendation for Best Filmmaker at NYU’s First Run Film Festival.

She continues to build worlds that blur the line between fantasy and reality, telling stories where wounded characters come together to grow, heal, and create something better.
